RCL-Supported Development Given Planning Permission - Press Release
1 December 2016
During 2016, the Railway Consultancy provided analysis, and Managing Director Dr Nigel G Harris gave evidence in person at the public enquiry, for an appeal about a development at Boorley Gardens, Eastleigh, Hampshire. The Appeal had been brought by Miller Homes, Gleeson & Welbeck in respect of a development of 680 dwellings and other buildings adjacent to Hedge End railway station, for which planning permission had previously been refused. Amongst a range of consultants used to address different issues, the Railway Consultancy’s evidence helped to persuade the planning inspector that services on the adjacent railway could not only cope with the expected levels of demand from this development, but also for a more distant development whose access to the railway would be facilitated by work at Boorley Gardens.
