Awards for the Railway Consultancy - Press Release
20 October 2014
The Railway Consultancy continues to provide consultancy and performance recognised as top-class.
On Friday 17th October 2014 Dr Nigel G Harris, Managing Director of the Railway Consultancy, was awarded the Webb Prize by the Institution of Civil Engineers. This prize was given for the best rail transport-related paper in their journal during 2013, and was given to Nigel by Geoff French, the President of the ICE. The subject of the paper was “Estimating the Profitability of the British East Coast Main Line” - an important issue within the key public policy area of rail franchising and economics. It can be found in the Proceedings of the ICE - Transport volume 166 no. 3 pp. 168-173 - or by email from us.
The previous evening, the Railway Consultancy was short-listed and commended within the “Best Green Business” category in the business awards for the London Borough of Bromley. Our environmental stance is important to us: we have been carbon-neutral over the entire life of the company, whilst clearly focussing our professional efforts in getting more people to travel by train, itself a ‘green’ thing to do.”
